
Asthra, a Malayalam mystery thriller against the beautiful backdrop of Wayanad, will soon premiere on the digital stage. Having already launched in theaters on December 1, 2023, this large-scale film has now been acquired by Manorama Max and announced for streaming. A release date has been set as well for July 18 of this year.
The OTT platform Manorama Max acquired the digital rights to “Asthra,” which is now forthcoming after its theatrical release in December 2023. You can see it from July 18 on Manorama Max.
Directed by Azaad Alavil with Amith Chakkalakal as its star, Asthra is a string of mysterious murders in an already troubled region. The story begins with the shocking murder of two police officers, whose deaths are marked by a chilling symbol bloodily daubed on the wall-an arrow. The case falls into the lap of investigation officer Joshy Mathew, who uses unconventional tactics to track down the elusive culprits behind the murder.

In the cast that includes Suhasini Kumaran, Santhosh Keezhattur, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Sudheer Karamana, Senthil Krishna, Renu Sounder, Jayadushyanth, Abu Salim, Srikanth Murali, Meghanathan, Neena Kurup and Parasparam Pradeep are connoisseurs of the arts. Technically, cinematographer Mani Perumal and editor Akhilesh Mohan all contribute to the film. The Rony Raphael background score was composed by Rony Raphael, while music for the songs was provided by Mohan Sithara. B. K. Harinarayanan with lyrics by Engandiyur Chandrasekharan is accredited for song writing. Shamjith Ravi was responsible for the production design and Arun Manohar costumed the film. Mafia Sasi handled stunt coordination while Baywood’s ex-wife actually performed the visual effects.
Prem Kallat and Prenand Kallat are the producers of the film Asthra. The production crew includes some of well-known figures from several departments, such as Media PRO Shejin Alappuzha and PROs A. S. Dinesh and Vazhoor Jose. Viewers who were unable to attend the theatrical run will soon have the opportunity to watch Asthra from the comfort of their homes. With its release on Manorama Max, the movie joins the increasing number of regional thrillers that are finding a second home on over-the-top (OTT) platforms.
